Associate Membership

If you are a student, faculty member, alumni, employee, or retiree of Caltech/JPL, or have an immediate family member who is, then this section does not pertain to you- you have no restrictions and should apply for regular membership.

There are a limited number of associate membership positions (for those who are not part of the Caltech/JPL community) based on the number of regular members in the club. Currently AACIT has no openings for new associate members. However, we are accepting applications and, upon approval, these applications will be kept on a waiting list until an opening is made.

Applications must be reviewed by the AACIT Board of Directors before a final decision is made. AACIT Board of Directors also reserves the right to prioritize approved applications on the waiting list based on criteria listed below. If you have questions, you should discuss them with a board member.

Associate Members should:
  • Be certificated pilots
  • Fly the larger aircraft
  • Fly routinely
In general AACIT does not accept associate member applications from student pilots working on a primary certificate. However, there have been exceptions (such as students agreeing to training during "off" hours). Again, discuss this with a board member.
